Socially Distant Reels on Tune Supply for Father's Day

Well, folks, it's been a while since we've seen you… and since we've seen each other! It can be difficult to find much to celebrate during the various crises that are affecting us globally and in the US at present, but one bright silver lining to the dark cloud of this moment is the ability of musicians to use technology to collaborate over distance, and the enthusiasm with which many are doing so. The Irish traditional music community has been no exception. One shining example of this is the ongoing work by our friends Caitlin Warbelow and Chris Ranney, who have started a business called Tune Supply, which coordinates and produces online public concerts and also specialized personal content, enabling participating musicians to earn some much-needed income as virtually all gigging opportunities have vanished, and giving lovers of music the chance to enjoy performances by the artists they miss hearing live and in person.

Tune Supply produced an online concert for Father's Day in the US, and The Yanks were thrilled to be included in the lineup. Over 90 musicians participated from six different countries, making for a truly epic concert that lasted over three hours! We thank Caitlin and Chris for their tireless work in organizing the event, as well as the other musicians who participated, and of course, the viewers and listeners who supported the effort with their ears, eyes, and wallets.

Here is our contribution to the concert: The Collier’s Reel / The Stony Steps. We were joined by Josh Dukes on flute, and we would like to thank Chris Ranney for his video editing work. We loved working on this and were very pleased with the result. We hope you will enjoy it, as well!

St. Patrick's Day at Lincoln Center

This year, we celebrated St. Patrick's Day in style, playing a concert at New York's prestigious arts and music venue, Lincoln Center! Our concert in the Center's David Rubenstein Atrium was packed to full capacity from start to finish. It felt so great to play a hometown show in such a marvelous space. The staff were awesome, the audience were awesome, and for us it was one of our most enjoyable shows to date. Thanks so much to everyone who made it possible, and to our fantastic audience who gave us a night to remember!

Video from Milwaukee

Here's a clip from our concert in Milwaukee last weekend. It's a set we recorded on our first album, comprised of two reels: The Gooseberry Bush, and the Nine-Pint Coggie. Thanks to Jeff Ksiazek for posting, and thanks to all at the Milwaukee Irish Fest Center for a great night!

Yanks hit the Midwest

We just had a great few gigs in Wisconsin, playing for packed houses in Madison and Milwaukee. We taught workshops in Milwaukee for the Milwaukee Irish Fest School of Music, and then performed a sold-out concert at the Milwaukee Irish Fest Center on Saturday night. It was a great weekend and we want to thank everyone at the Center for inviting us to come play and teach at their awesome venue. Hope to do it again soon!
